After a morning of pure cuckooness with the boys at school yesterday, some more tears and pictures, I did a super speedy house tidy up before leaving for Vancouver at 2. I had wonderful visions of getting there early and wandering around Granville Island solo, going to Paper YA! and maybe having a little snack somewhere yummy.
All was going according to plans until I hit Squamish and saw the sign saying: Accident on 99, highway closed until 4:30...that was around 3 so I kept going...I got in the line and waited until things got moving again around 6! Luckily at the last minute leaving I grabbed my Style Statement book, so I had something to read and do. I re-programed the stereo and read the car manual, cleaned out all the stray Cheerios at the bottom of my purse, buffed my fingernails, and seriously regretted downing the huge chocolate milk and my water bottle.
Every once and a while traffic would move a touch...we would creep up 15 feet or so and I would plan my perfect pee pee spot BUT then the same lovely Asian family would get out of their car and take pictures and frolic happily near my pee spot! AAAHHH! I was glad they were having fun but I was having some serious bladder issues...I contemplated using my glove box ziploc stash I use for surprise kid barfs on the road but could not figure out how to manage the ziploc squat without people seeing. Plus, I did not want to show up for the group with pee splats on my pants as that does not give one a good first impression at all! Anyways, I held it and traffic started moving and I made it to the meeting by 7.
I was immediately taken with the Carrie & Danielle space, loved the little iron gate the winding staircase, black banisters and striking artwork. I was curious to meet them...wondering what they would sound like etc. They were welcoming and warm and I was not disappointed at all, they were real, they were who I thought they were from the book. I loved that. The Lifestyle Map group was led by Karyn and she had a songbird voice that made everything sound sweet and poetic. It all just clicked and I was so glad I went. The drive home was a breeze, my mind was racing with ideas and plans. The road is hell with construction and I am a loopy driver (think of Tunsis the driving cat from SNL) it's like driving in a wild video game with all the pylons and reflective thingies and people with signs popping up...but I got a coke float and it helped me stay focussed.
We did exercises on gratitude and today as I reflect I realize just how grateful I am to be doing this Life Style Map Workshop now...Snickerdoodles is about finding your bliss...being in the moment....sharing....it is a journey and this workshop is soo perfect, it is the key to unlocking my door of self discovery. Okay, that sounds super corny...but I truly feel that right now. I do not want to give away all the juicy details yet but there are a couple things in my package that I will share as they are so powerful:
The first page reads...
You are the designer of your life...How do you want to feel? What do you want to have and experience
What is true to you?
another one...
There is nothing so powerful as a person with a dream and a to-do list. (love that!)
Check out the Friday edition of Q & A with Carrie and Danielle, it's a good one today. Take the link on my sidebar under Daily Inspirations. Anyways, the boys are setting up some Evil Knievel Jumps in the cul de sac and I better get out there...enjoy the sunshine, your beasties on summer holidays, and all else that comes your way today. I will post again later and I look forward to our weekly Eco post as well from Carmen. oxo
p.s. Today I am grateful for my toilet and being able to use it as much as I want...tee hee...I thought I would share that just in case any new friends from last night were reading today.

I love that you took time to think about a lifestyle map and got a free interior auto detailing in the process. I'm glad the wrecks on the way to Portland were minimal for us on our last visit.
