Have you heard of Kelowna's hottest new golf resort?
I was blown away by the amazing view when we visited Tower Ranch, it's breathtaking. The clubhouse restaurant Aberdeens was reasonable and exceptionally yummy...try the Salt & Pepper wings, Butter Chicken or The Italian Chicken Club with Amber Ale Cheddar. Hungry yet? They also have my beloved Orofino wine on their list...see the Corky Girl category to ready all about it.
Here is a little lowdown on the resort from the web page:
The Club at Tower Ranch is a Thomas McBroom designed 18-hole championship golf course, destined to become one of the Okanagan's premier courses! The semi-private club, located minutes from downtown Kelowna and the Kelowna airport features dramatic, undulating land giving way to a fascinating golf experience for all levels of players. Each hole is unique offering spectacular panoramic vistas from every t-box, white silica sand bunkers and bent grass greens.
Sounds pretty nice...here are some photos taken by my ever-so-talented Brother In Law to be Brian Reilly, who also happens to be the GM of the course and the generous donor of this prize.
Wondering what the prize is yet??? Well it's Green Fee Passes for two! This prize has a $250 value.
The contest will run until Sept. 30th...here are the rules...
*you are allowed to comment one time per day and each comment will get you a ballot in the draw
*you can comment on that days post, your favorite golf resort or apres golf food, or whatever else floats your boat as long as it's not x-rated
*if you pass this along to a friend and they mention you in their comment you will get two entries for that day too! Who knows, they might win and take you along!
So there it is, and good luck to all! I am off to do laundry...our friendly neighborhood repairman came by and replaced our washing machine belt for $100 yesterday so I am back in business. He also had some great appliance feedback for me. Apparently, I should look at Whirpool machines rather than Samsung...due to parts/repair issues. Also did you know you should never use Aluminum bottomed cookware on your glass stove tops? Eventually you will get a silver ring that can not be cleaned off. Smart guy, thanks Jim!

Ok, first to post... I'd like to golf down the road in Kelowna, so pick me!! :-)
What I am commenting on is something that 'floats my boat' - LOL! I stumbled upon a great website - beautiful food, beautiful pics, beautiful FREE recipes (and a blog). www.smittenkitchen.com
You must check it out... YUMMERS!!!

I am an on again off again golfer who gets inspired by a random, flukey yet beautiful shot that makes momentarily think that I REALLY COULD be one of those renaissance women who not only can speak several languages, run a 10k, have a rewarding career, but can also hit the golf course for a round once in awhile.
OK I am now officially in the running for this prize. More comments (entries) to come,
Kelly

Well.. I'm really going to give it a good shot here. My husband has been working as a paramedice down here in Vancouver for the last 5 years (we moved here from our friends and family in Kelowna) and he's just completing the crazy difficult 2 years Advanced Life Support course and will be gratuating in October. We are hoping beyond hope to move back to Kelowna and I sure would love to win this to say thanks baby for all you do for our family to help me stay at home and for all you do for society by putting yourself out there like that. So, rarely to I beg but there you go. ;) Good luck to everyone however. :) lol
Peace! Tammy

Can't resist this! I was just doing a search for Spanx or Yummit Tummie's in Kelowna and up this blog popped! What an enjoyable blog!
My hubby & I just tried The Tower restaurant last week for our anniversary dinner. It was fabulous food and an amazing view! Glad I can enter!

Hey do I get another entry for posting nothing, a post about nothing? Hmmm let me see if I can find something to share.
I have chronic kidney problems and have been told to really watch my salt intake. I read labels 50% more now at the grocery store than I did before. I recognize that TONS of things are over the top in salt content, all of the convenience foods, and the international sauces that always backon me. So I am looking into cooking more from scratch. I am looking for a good book with soup recipes. Cause I love soup, can control the salt if I make it myself, and it last for days....many meals. Anyone???
